At a City Council meeting on July 9th Alderman Earnest Gay gave an update on the CDBG grant.

Gay said Bexar County approved the allocation of the 2015 funds on July 7, 2015.  He added that the City of Sandy Oaks was included with the allocation and that another meeting will take place on the 21st of July for the Urban County Renewal Cooperative Agreements.

He also said July 24th is when Bexar County submit the renewal agreements to HUD for approval.

“From what I understand, once they get to that point it’s pretty much a done deal then” said the Alderman.

Gay also added “[the grant] would pay for an engineer who would asses what needs to be done, what it would cost, and would give the timelines for how long it should take to get done.”

The grant total for Sandy Oaks is $75,000
