SAWS Boil Water Notice

SAWS has announced a boil water notice for the area just south of the southern part of 1604.  The area effected spans as far West as Elchman Road past State Highway 16 S, and as far East as FM2579, and includes the City of Sandy Oaks.

The cause for the boil notice is because a break occurred in a water main between Highway 16 and I37.  Water pressure dropped to below 20 psi and water will need to be tested and certified before being deemed drinkable.

Bottled water is being provided by SAWS at these locations:

  • 2111 Silver Mountain (across from 20540 Silver Wing at the SAWS pump station)
  • 4370 Palo Alto Dr. (Palo Alto pump station)
  • Shady Forest at Priest Road
  • U.S. Hwy 281 South at Memorial Lane

On its website, SAWS provided the following information regarding boiling water:

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you should consider bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
