On September 2, 2015 the Council voted unanimously to cancel the election and declare unopposed candidates elected.
Each of the positions up for election had only a single applicant running.
To fill the vacancy of Mayor, the only applicant was Micki Ball, who currently holds Alderman Place 4.
For Alderman Place 1, the only applicant was David Tremblay, who currently holds the position.
Alderman Places 3 and 5 only had applications from Karen Tanguma and BJ Gillespie respectfully.
After the Council decided to cancel the November election, Mayor Pro Tempore Earnest Gay turned to the audience and thanked them for not running for any of the offices so that the city would not have to spend money for an election.
