Community Book Exchange Started

A book exchange has been started in the City of Sandy Oaks.

The first exchange was held on June 27, 2015 at the home of Catherine Rendahl.

Rendahl is one of the organizers who helped create the Good Neighbors group, an organization in Sandy Oaks with the goal of building a stronger community in the city.

At one of the first Good Neighbors meetings the group had discussed contacting a mobile book service with the San Antonio Public Library, but the service was no longer operational.

The Good Neighbors then formed a book committee and decided to start a book exchange hosted at Rendahl’s home.

The book exchange is located at 4022 Waterwood Pass and Rendahl has suggested that people bring more books than they take to help the collection of books grow.

August 15, 2015 Update

The operation hours for the book exchange have been changed to Wednesdays from 5pm to 8 pm.
