Changing Council meetings’ start time
At a prior meeting on August 28, 2014 the council had officially decided to have the meeting time of regularly scheduled meetings be 6:30pm. The regularly scheduled meeting 3 days prior to this was scheduled by Mayor Clement to be at 7pm. Clement sought to change the meeting time to 7pm permanently and stated that it would give Aldermen more time to make it to meetings.
Alderman Ball mentioned that having the meeting later meant less time to conduct a meeting. Attendees to Council meetings had to leave the location of the private park before 9pm to avoid being locked in and a new 30 minute long “Citizens to be Heard” segment had been added to regular council meeting agendas, limiting time.
It was pointed out that a meeting scheduled for 6:30 pm could be delayed to 7pm if necessary. The council took no action.
