New San Antonio Cell Phone Law

Starting January 1, 2015, a new San Antonio cell phone law will go into effect.

It will be illegal to drive while trying to operate a cell phone.  This includes holding the cell phone while talking, but it also includes using the phone to text or use the phone for apps that require operation while in use.

The San Antonio cell phone law will have a grace period for the first month where offenders will get warnings.  In February, SAPD will begin issuing ticket to offenders.

Residents of the City of Sandy Oaks will be entering San Antonio sooner than in the past when driving north on I37.  San Antonio has extended its city limit from the Northern side of the San Antonio River down to highway 1604.

There has been no communication about ordinances against driving while putting on makeup, eating large meals, shaving, putting on clothes, and holding a dog in your lap.
